I am getting older.
These days I really do enjoy a Sunday out on a lake, steering a hired motorboat across a mellow Berlin lake... watching ducks and swans and dreaming of owning a sailing yacht.
Oh, and: Hey Hey Hey: One more week at work - and then I will be off to Fin- and Lappland for a fortnight of mosquito bites, no alcohol, 14° celsius and rain. Whow! I am indeed looking forward to this! |

My lovely friends Tom, Eva and Massuda gave me a top birthday present: they have hired a 200 years old cottage at a lake between Berlin and Hamburg. And tomorrow evening we will drive down there to stay until Monday morning. Just the four of us (and a dog, a teenage boy and a baby).
I am so much looking forward to that. I can do with a break. |

I am now officially F O U R T Y...
The best birthday present ever came from my sister: She's invited me to a trip to the Ngoro Ngoro Crater in Tanzania at the end of the year. Is that fantastic or what? I can't believe it. We are flying to Africa to see some wilde beasts!
Some years ago I saw some rather funky animals in South Africa, but I guess that's nothing like the Ngoro Crater..
I am sooooo excited!

This is my friend Max how he used to be. A year ago he fell into a coma. He had the measles when he was a toddler. He wasn't vaccinated because he was too young.
He grew into a lovely healthy wild boy. For almost ten years the evil measles virus slept in his brain - and nobody knew.
Then he changed. He was diagnosed with SSPE, a rare disease caused by the measles virus.
Measles could be extinguished. If parents had their kids vaccinated. But more and more parents don't. It makes me angry. Very angry.

If you have pregnant friends (well, yes, I know, unlikely, considering what team most of us play for...) or know people with toddlers, please forward the link.
Measles could be wiped off planet earth - if children got vaccinated.
